Nature of Work
Shall have the responsibility to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the following specific areas of the Greenwood Police Department: Patrol Division; Dispatchers; Juvenile Officer; Domestic Violence Officer; Maintenance Officer ; Janitor; Training Officer; DUI Officers, Crossing Guards.
Examples of Work
The Deputy Chief of Administration shall assume the duties of Chief of Police during periods the Chief is absent and shall ensure all standing orders are enforced. The Deputy Chief of Administration shall organize and conduct a progressive program of personnel training to improve efficiency and cooperation in areas of common responsibilities and to advance the public relations program for obtaining maximum public confidence and support.
The Deputy Chief of Administration shall be responsible for preparing the work schedule for the Administration Division to be approved by the Chief of Police prior to posting. He shall perform all other duties that the Chief of Police may assign to him.
The Deputy Chief of Administration shall have regular hours of duty as prescribed by the Chief of Police. This position is classified as being “EXEMPT” under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Qualifications
- Must hold the rank of Captain at the time of application.
- No Disciplinary action resulting in suspension without pay within the past year prior to interview date.
- Appear before a review board to demonstrate knowledge of the City of Greenwood Personnel Policy and Procedure; Police Department Rules, Regulation and Policies, FLSA, and the City of Greenwood Purchasing Policy.
- Must have a Valid Mississippi Driver’s License.
- Ten (10) years of Supervisory Experience.
