  1. Praxis Trainings

    The Teacher Education Department at MVSU will hold Praxis trainings in the O.P. Lowe Education Building. The offered trainings include Praxis core math, Praxis II English, Praxis II Biology, and Praxis II Physical Education. Registration must be completed by Thursday, Apr. 26.

  2. Community Yoga Class

    April 29, 2017, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ Studio A

    Studio A offers Vinyasa Style Yoga and classes are suitable for all levels, from the experienced yogi to the beginner! This is a pay-what-you-want yoga class. Our suggested donation is a sliding scale of $5-$10 per class, though we won't turn anyone away for a lack of funds. Class structure and postures will vary depending on the instructor. Bring a towel and a bottle of water!

  1. Mission Mississippi "Day of Dialogue"

    April 29, 2017, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Historic Elks Club

    Mission Mississippi of Leflore County, a group promoting racial reconciliation, will hold a "Day of Dialogue." The program, which is free and open to the public, will run from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and will include a quick breakfast and some fellowship. Attendees will break into small groups for discussion with brothers and sisters from across Leflore County as well as a panel moderated by the Rev. Peter Gray.

    Kappa Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will present its 2017 Fashionetta pageant. Six contestants are vying for the title of Miss Fashionetta. The pageant is open to the public.

  1. Youth and Sports and Empowerment Initiative

    April 29, 2017, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Greenwood Community and Recreation Center

    Tyrone Banks, facility administrator for the Leflore County Adult Detention Center will be the speaker. Parents of participants are asked to have children at the center by 9 am. Basketball games will immediately follow the program. For more information, call 455-2273 or 299-5193.
